Using your sense of humor, you can easily overcome life’s hurdles and get emotional relief.

Women have the hardest time in the world of humor. Finding your place in the sun is not easy, but the Brooklyn girl Josephine could do it. She became globally known as Joy Behar. The website brooklynski.info. will tell you more about this woman.

Italian ordor

Joy was born in Williamsburg in 1942. Like many others, her family of Italian descent came to the United States to fulfill the American dream. Her mother was a seamstress, and her father worked as a truck driver for a large company. Despite the modest family, her childhood was happy. Joy was an only child and simply bathed in her parents’ love. Although Joy’s parents belonged to the working class, they didn’t lose the refined taste, which was inherited by their daughter. They took her to the theater, opera and museums. Her first comic and theatrical talents began to appear at the age of two.

She graduated from Washington Irving School and then from Queens College, where she studied sociology. Joy got her MA in English language from Stony Brook University. Before becoming a comedian and host, Joy worked for some time as an English teacher at Lindenhurst High School. But she felt that was not her calling, as she didn’t like teaching.

In 1964, she got married and moved to Long Island. Josephine did not manage to settle there since she was raised in the spirit of the big city and couldn’t adjust to the suburban quietness.

Joy’s life took a turn after a dramatic event in her life. After experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, Behar decided to change her life. In 1979, she resigned from her teaching job and ventured into the television industry. Having no mentor, she has a thorny path to success.

Starting from the bottom

Looking for an “entrance” to the world of television, Joy began working as an administrator on the Good Morning America show. She got this job owing to her husband’s cousin who worked there. She worked for two long years to become an assistant producer.

At the same time, she gradually began making her appearances as a comedian in New York nightclubs. Initially, it was just an option, an attempt, But in 1981, it transformed into a real source of income and support. After the divorce, income from performances allowed her to provide for herself and her daughter. However, Josephine did not pursue a serious career as a comedian until 1983, when she lost her job.

At first, she performed regularly in small clubs in Greenwich Village. Success came quite quickly. The audience liked her impressions. Joy not only did impressions but also was a stand-up comedian. She joked about her family, social issues, politics and gender inequality.

In 1984, she returned to Good Morning America as a guest. To walk through those doors again, just as a star, was beyond any fees.

In the late 80s, many opportunities opened to her. She’s been on a lot of talk shows, but did not stop performing. On the contrary, Joy even allocated time for shooting in films such as Cookie, Baby Boom, This is my life, Manhattan Murder Mystery, and even thought about Broadway. Joy Behar became a true star.

The show “The View” is considered to be the biggest triumph. It all started with the first 10-minute performance in honor of the 89th birthday of actor Milton Berle. But later, it turned into a full-time job. Behar was initially invited as a host and appeared three times a week to interview guests. Eventually, she became a permanent presenter of every episode. Joy had been working at “The View” for 16 years and left it in 2013. Afterward, she appeared as a guest and host from time to time. In 2009, Joy Behar had her own show which lasted only two years.

The importance of humor is often underestimated in our lives, but it should not.
